    Subscriber Tip

My suggestion is not only for the members, but also the
environment by keeping useful things out of the landfills.

Almost all communities now have a Freecycle Group. For those
not familiar with Freecycle, it is a group that you post wants
and offers. Say I have a set of dishes that I no longer want, I
post them on Freecycle. Members that would like to have them
send me an email and I pick one and they pick them up. Or if I
would like to have a foot massager, but can't afford one, I can
post a "want" message and if another member has one stashed in
their closet that they never use and had forgotten about, they
send me an email and I go pick it up.

I have seen "offers" that I would think no one would want that,
such as 10 wire coat hangers....but sure enough, someone did. On
the other hand, I have seen "offers" for things like a brand new
diamond wedding set. The gentleman that posted it said that the
wedding was called off, he was not able to return the set, he
took it to the pawn shop and they offered him so little for it
    that it was an insult.

He said he would rather give it away to someone that couldn't
afford a nice set...it was valued at $2, 000.00. The only thing
that he asked was for members to write a little something about
themselves in their emails rather than just "I want it". He
ended up giving it to a couple that was getting married while
the groom was home on leave from Iraq...and they even invited
him to the wedding. So, as you can see what is trash to you, is
a treasure to someone else....and you can find some really great
    treasures!

To find a group in your area, go to: http://www.freecycle.org/

    Grandpa Terry's Update

(Quote - "Do It Now Before Your Future Becomes Your Past")

I want to personally welcome you to this week's newsletter. If
you are a new subscriber all you have to do is just sit back,
    read and enjoy.

Whoopee!  I received a total of 18 entries to my Slogan contest
    out of over 25,000 subscribers...

Come on folks, I know you can do better than that.  Let's try
this again only this time I have a form you can use.  Here is
    the offer again:

Would You Like To Win $50?

Effective immediately, I am accepting entries for a Slogan to be
used on the Budget Stretcher web site and this newsletter.

All you have to do is submit your Slogan in 10 words or less to
me using the form at the below page:

This contest will run until February 28th.  At that time I will
choose the top 10 entries and list them in the newsletter so
that you can vote on the entry you believe best represents
Budget Stretcher.  The entry with the most votes will receive
$50 via a check, PayPal payment or a gift card, the winner's
    choice.

Please take the time to submit your entries.

There has been some discussion lately about free offers.
There's just one thing I want you to remember.  Whether it's on
the internet on not, you very seldom will receive anything
absolutely free.  A business can't operate by giving away things
without the expectation of some kind of return.

Let's just take this newsletter as an example.  I offer this
newsletter and several benefits at no cost to over 25,000
subscribers.  If I didn't have a reasonable expectation that
some of the subscribers would purchase the products I offer
    it simply would not exist.

By it's very nature of providing help to those that are already
having money problems the possibility of selling these products
is very low.  Hence, the more advertising that is required to
maintain the newsletter and web site.

I am absolutely dedicated to helping as many subscribers as I
can learn how to manage their money and provide a better life
for themselves and their families.  And, I can do this without
any cost to those that can't purchase the products if I can
earn enough to keep Budget Stretcher afloat by selling to those
that can afford to order the products.

Why am I telling you this?  Simply because I want you to look
at every free offer and understand that there is probably some
cost involved at some point.  Like Budget Stretcher, it may just
be looking at advertisements, but it's there.

There is one more thing that I want to pass along about the
products I offer.  Every one of them have a money back guarantee
or they aren't advertised on Budget Stretcher.  If you aren't
completely satisfied with the product you will get your money
    back during the guarantee period.

If for some reason the company that is offering the product
doesn't honor their guarantee I will remove them from ever
advertising with me again and I will personally refund your
money so long as the guarantee period hasn't expired.  Not
because I'm a great guy but because you put your faith in me
    when you placed your order.

That's all for now. Remember, I really enjoy hearing from you
folks. If you have any comments, complaints, suggestions or just
want to say Hi, please send me an email to

If you know someone that may be interested in subscribing to
our newsletter just have them visit:

    All the best,

Grandpa Terry's Tip of the Week

Here is another contest I thought you may be interested in.

What did Ben Franklin know about saving money that could help
    families today?

2007 marks over 300 years since his birth and the lessons he
learned then are still true today. He'd still be encouraging
people to use their money wisely. Ben Franklin was one of the
most quoted public figures ever and some of his most famous
    quotes focused on saving money.

What would Ben Franklin think of our modern economy? Would he
still think that 'a penny saved is a penny earned' in a world
that includes online grocery flyers and websites featuring
    money-saving tips?

Since MyGroceryDeals.com and TheDollarStretcher.com are sure
that Ben would encourage people to use modern tools to save
money they've teamed up to create "Ben's Grocery Challenge"

For eight consecutive weeks beginning Feb 19th the two sites
will be encouraging visitors to share their best grocery related
money-saving tips. Visitors to Mygrocerydeals.com and
TheDollarStretcher.com will help select the best tip. Every
week, the person with the best selected tip will win a Ben ($100
bill). As well, all voters will also have a chance to win a $100
Ben bill at the end of "Ben's Grocery Challenge". It's a simple
    as that!

Ben Franklin was well known for encouraging people to
contribute to the common knowledge and to benefit from others'
wisdom. We think that old Ben would be pleased to see thousands
of people discover and share ways to save at the grocery store.

Find Ben's picture on http://www.mygrocerydeals.com or

    "Ben's Grocery Challenge"!

Work From Home answer for Cathy

    Hi Grandpa Terry,

I have just completed this FREE work from home course and can
assure you it is well worth your time.

I can promise you that you need no special computer skills to
achieve this. It is not a get rich quick scheme ( and does not
pretend to be) it is a very intensive course but when its FREE
what have you to loose but some time by trying it out.

I have some great news for those of you who are like myself,
you want to make money online but you just don't know how to get
    started.

    Visit the below link:

    --------

    Terry,

Just had to comment (again!). This time on the lady asking
about ads for making money at home using your computer. Some of
them are legit but some of them aren't. I have a WAHM business
and it's actually something I can do from home, even if
surrounded by kids, but it's not data entry. People just need to
do their research and make sure it's a legitimate company before
getting involved. There shouldn't be a huge investment to get
started in a business. Just use common sense. I have a couple of
articles on my website about how to find a good home business.
Would love to have you steer her my way to either

    Joyce Pierce

I keep one of those magnetized pads on my fridge for my grocery
list. I always start my list at the bottom of the page and work
up, so that when I tear off my list I usually have half a page
on the pad that can still be used.

    Peggy

    --------

    Hi Grandpa Terry,

My credit cards are high, my bank will give me a home equity
loan to pay them off but that still leaves me with that plus
my mortgage. Monthly payment would be lower than what I pay
now. Could I just try snowballing the cards instead?

    Here I am again,
    (great)Gramma Joan

    My Response:

    Hi Gramma Joan,

Since your credit card balances are high I would recommend the
home equity loan especially if the interest rates are above 15%.
You can always pay more on the loan to pay it off quicker.

It would be hard to save as much with the snowballing method as
    it would with the loan.

    I hope this helps,
    Grandpa Terry

My husband is always looking for his safety glasses...I read a
tip that you hang a thick white cotton sock on the wall in your
workshop area to store your glasses in.  This will not only
help you find them when you need them, but will keep them
    scratch-free and dust-free.
