If you were one of the lucky ones that had their credit card interest rates raised just before the new CARD regulations became law, there may be hope. ConsumersUnion.org has urged the Federal Trade Commission to consider new regulations to require credit card companies to roll back these unfair rate hikes. “Last year’s shameful frenzy of credit card interest rate spikes has saddled millions of Americans with high cost debt, including many consumers who always paid their bills on time,” said Lauren Bowne, staff attorney for Consumers Union. “The Fed should undo that damage by requiring banks to lower interest rates for customers who were treated unfairly before the new credit card protections went into effect.” Click Here To read more about this new proposal. It is just common sense that you can reach a lot more people to buy on the web than you can using more traditional advertising like newspapers. Take a look at Ebay. At any one time literally millions of items are listed. These aren't all businesses that are listing. Although I don't know the exact figures, I would say that most are from individuals that are looking to make some extra money. Most sellers use PayPal. If you have something to sell you can always accept personal checks or money orders, however, this has it's own problems. The main problem is that you aren't sure a personal check is not going to bounce. Both take a lot of time and many people that say they are going to send a check or money order never do it. The best way to sell anything on the internet is to accept credit cards or online checks. These payments are instant and you have the money in your account within minutes. With PayPal the security of these payments is guaranteed making the buyer much more comfortable ordering what you are selling. The biggest benefit to PayPal is that it doesn't cost you a cent to join and there are no monthly fees for sellers. You only pay a small percentage of the purchase price (normally 2.9% + $.35) when you sell. This is way below what it would cost you to have a regular credit card merchant account. I have been using PayPal at Budget Stretcher for over 5 years and have never had a problem with them. They make it easy for me to sell and with the low fees I can pass those saving on to my buyers. If you want to learn how you can start selling on the internet or Ebay I have provided a link below that gives you the details. You will need to open a Business Account. This is absolutely free. https://www.paypal.com/us/mrb/pal=8CPU5MM49B4KE Effective immediately, I will be listing up to 3 classified ads in the newsletter for anyone that opens a Business Account through PayPal using the above link. This will get your item viewed by over 23,000 subscribers. All you have to do is send me the verification email that you will receive from PayPal and include the information about the item you want to sell. I will verify it and will let you know what you have to do. https://www.paypal.com/us/mrb/pal=8CPU5MM49B4KE This is your chance to make a little extra money. I have been saving them in a folder to sit down and start reading and using what I need. For some reason, I opened the current newsletter. I read the article about Advanced Care Plans. I copied 6 copies of them for my husband and I. We are in our 50's, but one never knows when you will need these documents in place. For some reason, God deemed it necessary for me to read the article and to make copies. I certainly hope neither of us need them for a long time, but I know that I have mine filled out and am going to get a witness to sign mine just in case. Of course I have a busy day ahead of me, but I am going to sit down this evening after everyone is settled for the night and start from the first issue of The Budget Stretcher and take care of what ever business needs taken care of in each and everyone for as many nights as it takes me. Thank you for providing such a great service to those of us who receive your newsletter. Have a safe and enjoyable Sunday.
