Grandpa Terry, I read your newsletter regularly. I enjoy it
very much, thank you for taking the time to write and distribute
it. I am sending this info on Angle Food Ministries again, I
sent it in about a month or so ago, and I see that it is
catching on with the other posts about it. This ministry started
in Feb of 1994 and they helped 34 families in Monroe, Georgia.
In Feb of 2006 they helped 340, 000 families in 32 states. In
November of 2006 it was up to 500, 000, that's a half million
families. AWESOME, don't you think?? That many families can't be
wrong about this ministry. So PLEASE, folks that subscribe to
Grandpa Terry's newsletter, just check it out, you will see for
yourself. Our minister says "If you eat then you need this food"
That's the bottom line, anyone, even President Bush can purchase
this food! I guarantee you will like the products. The meats are
restaurant quality. So like I said please try it out, you wont
go wrong. Thanks for reading my post. God bless and take care. I
found my church that I belong to now, by it being an Angle Food
    "host site".

    Coupon Savings
    by Michelle Jones

A few months back I shared with you the idea of leaving a
few coupons that you cannot use throughout the grocery store
so that other families may benefit from them, especially
when they are about to expire.  Well, have you ever thought
of doing the same thing with department store coupons?  I was
recently on the receiving end of such a coupon when a
thoughtful lady simply walked up to me and asked if I could
use her 20% off coupon because she was about to leave the
store and would not be using it.  Not only was I able to
save an extra $12.00 on the expensive bathroom shelf I had
been hoping to purchase that day, but this kind gesture from
a complete stranger just made my day... and I hope I can do
the same for someone else very soon! :o)

Grandpa Terry's Tip of the Week

    I'll Show Them.....

Several years ago my wife and I lived in a little house that
set back off of a gravel country road about a quarter mile. Our
mailbox was on the road so I would stop and get the mail when I
    came home from work.

One day when I picked up the mail there was a letter from a
finance company (Avco Finance, I think). I opened and read it
immediately. It was one of the nastiest letters I've ever
received. I was fuming by the time I reached the house and
    decided to call them.

I didn't appreciate being called financially irresponsible or
any of the other hateful comments they made in the letter. I
told them that they had received the last money they would ever
    see from me.

The next day I contacted a lawyer and arranged to file for
bankruptcy. It took about two months to get the $200 together to
file. I went to federal bankruptcy court in St Louis and that
was that. That finance company didn't get another dime.

How dare they call me financially irresponsible. I was only 3
months behind on my payments. They should have understood that I
wasn't making much money and couldn't afford to make the
payments. So what if I signed a paper saying I would.

Yep, that's a true story. I did file for bankruptcy in 1970 and
relieved myself of all of my debts. It was a great feeling, for
    a while!!

Shortly after that we needed a baby bed for our 11 month old
daughter and went to a local furniture store. Naturally, I
didn't have the money to pay for it so I asked them to finance
    it. I was turned down.

Next, we needed a different car because ours broke down
permanently. Turned down. I was able to get a co-signer but had
    to beg for that.

This went on and on. I would get mad to hide my humiliation.

You would think that this would have taught me a lesson but it
didn't. I kept making the same mistakes for a few more years
before I finally realized that it was me and not my bill
    collectors that had the problem.

    Yeah, I showed them alright!

Next week I will continue this sad story...

    Grandpa Terry's Email

    Hi Grandpa Terry,

Question.....why do you recommened paying the lowest balance
off first and then moving off to the next lowest balance? So
many other sites including bankrate.com recommened paying off
the balance wih the highest interest rate first or at least the
balance with the highest interest rate and shortest term. Its a
    little confusing.

Is it because by paying the lowest balance off first you are
able to free back more money more quickly which to be able to
use towords the other ones? But wouldnt you really save a little
more interest by paying off the higest interest rate loans
    first?

    Confused by different opinions?

    Roman

    My Response:

    Hi Roman,

You are absolutely right. Paying of the credit card with the
highest interest rate first will save you money. However, it's
been my experience that most of the people I deal with have
problems sticking to a payment plan. Therefore, by paying the
lowest balance first they will quickly see results and have a
    better chance of continuing.

    I hope this helps,
    Grandpa Terry

    --------

In response to the email I sent you about the visa that was
charging me 29% interest... you sent me a link for a credit card
with a 0% interest rate for 12 months.... I followed your advice
and got it and transferred my balance to that card and have
worked out a plan to get the majority of it paid off in that
first year. Thank you so much for your insight and the link.

    Sincerely,
    Desiree

I would like to tell you of the benefits of that plain little
ole bottle of 3% hydrogen peroxide you can get for under $1.00
    at any drug store.

Most doctors don't tell you about peroxide or they would lose
    thousands of dollars.

    1. Take one capful and hold in your mouth for a few minutes
daily, then spit it out. No more canker sores and your teeth
will be whiter without expensive pastes. Use it instead of
    mouthwash.

    2. Let your toothbrushes soak in a cup of peroxide to keep them
    free from germs.

    3. Clean your counters, table tops with peroxide to kill germs
and leave a fresh smell. Simply put a little on your dishrag
when you wipe, or spray it on the counters.

    4. After rinsing off your wooden cutting board, pour peroxide
on it to kill salmonella and other bacteria.

    5. Soak any infections or cuts in 3% peroxide for 5 to 10
minutes several. A woman reported that her husband healed
    gangrene By soaking in peroxide.

    6. Fill a spray bottle with a 59/50 mixture of peroxide and
water and keep it every bathroom to disinfect without harming
your septic system like bleach or most disinfectants will.

    7. Tilt your head back and spray into nostrils with your 50/50
mixture whenever you have a cold, plugged sinus. It will bubble
and help to kill the bacteria. Hold for a few minutes then blow
    your nose into tissue.

8.If you have a terrible toothache and cannot get to a dentist
right away, put a capful of 3% peroxide into your mouth and hold
it for a few minutes several times a day. The pain will lessen
    greatly.

    9. Put half a bottle of peroxide in your bath to help rid
    boils, fungus or other infections.

    10. You can also add a cup of peroxide instead of bleach to a
load of laundry to whiten them. If there is blood on clothing,
pour directly on the soiled spot. Let it sit for a minute. Then
rub it and rinse with cold water. Repeat if necessary.

    11. I use peroxide to clean mirrors. There is no smearing,
which is why I love it so much for this.

I could go on and on.

It is a little brown bottle no home should be without. With
prices of most necessities rising, I'm glad there's a way to
save tons of money in such a simple, healthy manner.

    Subscriber Tip

When my children were toddlers, insted of buying "the next
stage" baby food I would cook our evening meal making a
little extra. I would then take the leftovers lay out on
aluminum foil, (I did not always have the little trays)I would
cover with top sheet of foil, seal and mark what was inside/date
freeze flat. Then I would just tuck them into a grocery plastic
bag to protect further. These were lunches for them the next
day, dinner as well if it what we were having was not toddler
food some evening. Worked so well my husband started taking them
for his lunches!! I just had to make bigger portion ones for
him. There were never leftovers thrown away in our house and I
felt good knowing I was not wasting money on the bigger jars of
baby food. This became a habit of preparing these as I was
    cleaning up from dinner.

My blended family consists of four males, three adult sized
teenagers and my man. They were always complaining someone else
    was wearing "their"socks.

To stop the grumbling, I bought each person their own colour
socks (tube type) last Christmas. They were on sale in six packs
so if one wears out they can easily still have a pair.

Black was given to the grubbiest guy, white to the least messy
and two tones of grey for the others.

They were all happy to have their own personal coloured socks
and to have the practical Christmas gift as well!

    Dinner Rolls

    3 heaping Tbsp. shortening
    1 Tbsp. salt
    Scant 1/2 cup sugar
    1 cup hot water
    6 cups flour
    1 cup warm water (110 - 115 degrees)

been dissolved. Mix in remaining flour to form a soft dough.
    Knead dough well. Place in a bowl and cover with a damp towel;
let rise. Punch dough down when doubled and roll to 1/2 inch

These Tips provided by The Frugal Shopper

Please show your appreciation for these great tips by visiting
    this site.

    1. When washing dark clothes for the first time use cold water
and put salt in the water. The salt helps set the color. To
brighten dark clothes after they have been washed several times,
    repeat the procedure.

    2. Black clothing tends to look brown after several washings.
To restore the black color, add coffee or strong tea to the
    rinse water.

    3. Many garments labeled "Dry Clean Only" can be safely hand
washed using mild soap like Woolite and cold water.

    4. Cut dryer sheets in half before using. They still work just
as well. Keep a kleenex box on the dryer for the used ones - use
to dust furniture. More uses for used dryer sheets here.

    5. To dye fabric a brown color inexpensively, soak it in a
bucket of strong black coffee. This technique will also
camouflage a non-removable coffee stain on a white table cloth.
