    Subscriber Tip

Organizing Coupons can be a pain!! I use my son's old
clear baseball card holders that are punched for 3 ring binder.
I slip the coupons by category in the pockets divided by tabs
and organized in the order of my grocery store isle. I open the
binder and rest it on the cart and can see the coupons I have
for that isle. If an item happens to be on sale I can easily see
if I have a matching coupon and pull it out and put it in the
front pocket of the binder. At check out I have all the coupons
    ready to go.

    Coupon Savings
    by Michelle Jones

Another great way to organize your grocery coupons is to file
them by the dates. This is especially good for people who find
they are losing a lot of coupons due to expiration dates, and is
also a very simple and easy method. By filing your coupons by
the dates only, you will have a stack of coupons that are
expiring this month, another for next month, and so on. Then,
before you make a trip to the store each week you would simply
browse through the current month's set of coupons and pick out
what you need. I believe this method would also be good for
beginners and for people who are generally too busy to use
    coupons on a regular basis! ; o)

Save hundreds of dollars on your groceries each month, with
or without using coupons!  Read more of Michelle's FREE

    Grandpa Terry's Update

Welcome to this week's issue of our newsletter. I hope this
    finds everyone doing well.

It's been a pretty slow week for reader email.  I guess most
of you are busy doing what you do this time of year.  I've had
plenty of time to work on my new web site $2 Online Books and
am just about ready to go live.

Before I forget it, I received an email from another webmaster
telling me about a graphics program that can work almost as
good as Photoshop and it's free.  It's called Gimp.

These people talk in jargon that I don't have a clue what they
are saying but I did figure out how to download it and it seems
to work pretty good.  Here is what you have to do:

    Then download this file first:
GTK+ 2 Runtime Environment (version 2.8.18, for Windows 2000 and
    newer)
This will allow you to install the next file.

After you download the above file download this one:
The GIMP for Windows (version 2.2.13, fixed installer)
This for Windows.  If you are running a different system please
check their site for the download version.

Did you know that Budget Stretcher has between 300 and 400
articles archived?  These are separated by My articles, Featured
Author's Articles and Other Author's articles.  Every article
that has appeared in this newsletter since January 2001 is
    listed.

I would like to categorize these articles someday but for now
you can just search through them to find the ones you want.
    Here's the link:

That's all for now. Remember, I really enjoy hearing from you
folks. If you have any comments, complaints, suggestions or just
want to say Hi, please send me an email to

If you know someone that may be interested in subscribing to

Grandpa Terry's Tip of the Week

    Credit Unions

Have you ever thought about doing your banking
with a Credit Union?  It may just be the way to
    go for you.

A Credit Union is a non-profit organization that
provides virtually the same services as for profit
banks.  Statistically, you will receive more interest
on your savings and pay less interest on your loans
with a Credit Union.  However, you should check the
credit union in your area to make sure they offer
the same services as the banks before you jump into
    anything.

I could go on and on about the pros and cons of
credit unions but there is a web site that has
just about everything you would want to know.  It
might pay you to take a few minutes and browse the
    below web site:

    Grandpa Terry's Email

    Hello Grandpa Terry

First let me tell you what a blessing it was to find your site.
I have learned something new with each email and update. Not
sure if you intended to come across as someone's caring, wise
grandpa but that is what I get from it. I appreciate that you
open yourself up in that fashion.

My present church is in a place of transition, from one state
to another. I am part of a group of 7 plus families that will be
moving from NY to GA. I have been thinking and praying on doing
a short presentation of how to manage in the crossover from a
thrifty point of view. LOTS of the tips from your readers and
the articles you have there have guided me through times when it
was lean and mean. I know that the resources you share can be
applied to all people, no matter what income, social or other
    level they are on.

    Thank you for that.

    Blessings-

    Bernie

    ----------

When I entered the zip of the college town where I shop the
most, the two grocery stores, Homeland and IGA were not on the
list...also, the Wal-mart is not a super Wal-mart...so the only
store that came up that I can use is the Walgreens. If you
cannot get the local flyers on this site, shouldn't the list to
choose include the major grocery chains?

    Thanks, Janet

Instead of buying pooper scooper bags, use the ones you get
when you go to the store. You get them anyway, use them when you
walk the dog, just tie them to the end of the leash. Or use them
as trash bags for the wastebaskets in bedrooms or bathrooms.

    Special Recipe

    Home Made Shake and Bake

    4 cups flour
    4 cups soda crackers, crushed
    4 Tbsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 tsp. garlic powder
    2 tsp. onion powder
    3 Tbsp. paprika
    1/4 cup vegetable oil

Mix well and store indefinitely in the refrigerator in a
covered container. Moisten the chicken pieces with milk or
water. Pour about 2 cups mixture, or more if needed, into a
plastic bag. Bake coated chicken pieces in a greased shallow pan
at 350 degrees for 45-60 minutes. Discard plastic bag with
unused coating. DO NOT reuse extra coating that has come into
    contact with raw chicken.

These Tips provided by The Frugal Shopper

~~Visit your hairdresser during the week, as sometimes they
offer haircuts cheaper than on busier Saturdays.

~~Know what your health insurance pays for.

~~Coupons for health and beauty products that say good on "One
Any Size" can be used on trial sizes. If you have a 1.00 coupon
off of your favorite shampoo, and the trial size is only .99
cents, you will get it free!

~~For the truly frugal - when you can no longer squeeze any
more toothpaste out of the tube, cut the tube open, and scrape
the remainder into a bowl. Add baking soda and some water, and
you can double the amount of the toothpaste.

~~To stretch your shampoo pour half of bottle into empty
bottle, and add water to fill both. You have twice as much now,
and it will work just the same.

~~Free fingernail brush - When washing your hair, before you
rinse off the shampoo run your fingernails through your hair a
    few times. Then rinse.
