Subscriber Tip #1
Hey Grandpa Terry,
Along with Diane's deep freezer tip, I offer another: vacuum
sealers. When you buy in bulk, you save money. But only if
you're consuming everything you buy. Using vacuum sealers (there
are several different brands in varying price ranges) ensures
that your food stays fresher longer. Once you get the hang of
it, they really are a cinch to use.

When you purchase a product that has a coupon attached on the
package and you are unable to use it on that particular shopping
trip, don't toss the coupon! These manufacturer coupons can be
used on a future purchase, just be sure to check the expiration
date. When you return to the store the packages with the coupons
are likely to be all gone (they go fast) but you can still
purchase another item and use the coupon you found on your
previous trip!
Save hundreds of dollars on your groceries each month, with or
without using coupons! Read more of Michelle's FREE grocery

Grandpa Terry's Email
Good morning!
I want to thank you for such an awesome website! It has been so
helpful and encouraging to me!!
Also, I wanted to send in a tip in regards to helping the
Breast Cancer Site meet their quota. I set up a daily Google
event reminder with a link to the Breast Cancer site and now all
I have to do is a couple of quick little clicks and it is done
every day without me having to remember!
Have a great day!!

Grandpa T-
I am a single parent of three (15, 11, and 10). My children
know how I shop. Coupons, sales, clearance items, etc.. I know I
did something right when I hear "but it has a markdown sticker
on it!!" when they ask for an item.
I was grocery shopping today with my 11 year old and she wanted
to purchase a few things with her savings. i told her that she
should use the coupons we had and go from there.
Let me tell you how excited she was that she got 8 items that
would of been 8.92 plus tax for 3.04 total!! She even had money
left over to put back into her savings. This may not seem like a
whole lot to other people, but it is a huge lesson for her and
the other kids. Now she knows that her dollar will go further if
she uses coupons and takes the time out to properly price items.
Thanks for your newsletter and your tireless work. You are an
awesome example and i love your site.

Hi -
I was reading about your early Christmas shopping online and
thought I would remind people to type coupon codes in their
browser and there are a number of sites with discounts available
at checkout you can use. I just ordered something today from
target.com. It was on sale in their ad, plus I found a coupon
code for another 10% discount! That almost cut the shipping in
half! Can't beat that, but if you don't go look for these codes,
you will miss out! Worth a mention I thought as we all can
benefit from a little help with our shopping! I love online
shopping. I do most of my shopping this way every year and have
never been sorry.

Grandpa Terry,
In response to the subscriber tip #3, please tell the young
lady that she must not reuse the plastic bottles more than once.
Instead of reusing those, please recycle the plastic and don't
contaminate your family with the chemicals that leach out of the
plastic after a just few times of reusing. Buy "safe" plastic
bottles that last forever. I did a Google and came up with an
article at this link:
I used to be a "good mother" who washed the cheap plastic and
refilled the water so we would drink water instead of soda pop. I
have noticed that since finding out about the danger, we all are
clearly drinking more water and are much more energetic and
healthier, plus have a variety of nice easy to recognize bottles
to take on the go.
Terry, thanks for all the work you do for the great newsletter
each week. You are a treasure!

Dear Grandpa Terry,
Just wanted to say hi and hope all is well with your family and
you! And just another small thing - the item about the NRC
refuting the emails about the efficiency of Vicks as submitted
by one of the subscribers - actually - very coincidentally just
before i opened my computer just now and read about it - i tried
it on my niece who had a very persistent cough since 2 days ago.
As i massaged the Vicks into her sole, within a few minutes she
dosed off and slept without coughing for 5 hours straight! Now i
don’t know if this is a cure (i don’t think so) but it does help
them to sleep well. So while the research may not have been done
by the centre, it is still a good thing to try...
best wishes
Kalathevy

Subscriber Tip #2
The plastic bags from cereal can be used to flatten out chicken
breast. Just place the chicken in and pound away.
Plastic bags from cereal can be used on top of the cutting
board if you are going to chop onions. It saves from having the
smell of onion on your cutting board.
You can make your own hair detangler by taking a spray bottle
and putting in about 2 tablespoons of conditioner. Just fill the
rest with water and shake before applying to your hair.
Run out of bread crumbs, use some bran or corn flakes. Or
better yet, buy some day old bread (I prefer Italian), cut into
pieces and leave out to dry. Just grate in a food processor or
pound out inside of a cereal bag. To make Italian style, just
add a teaspoon of parsley.

Subscriber Tip #3
My pet peeve in house cleaning is the marathon it takes me to
clean my shower. Since I don't do it very often it makes it a
much harder task to do because it gets so bad between cleanings.
To remedy this I have come up with an easier solution. On the
days I wash my hair, which is usually every other day, I take
the cleaning sponge in the shower with me. Using the daily
shower cleaner I spray the walls and scrub the soap scum and the
mildew the best I can. If your shower is really bad, concentrate
on a section at a time. You don't have to take long each time (I
usually just do it about a minute or two, and the fumes are much
less with the daily shower cleaner than when using the stronger
chemicals of the bleach and standing in the shower for SO long
to clean the whole thing. Then continue with your shower as
normal. If the mildew is tougher than what will come out with
just the sponge and the other cleaner, I have sprayed the bleach
cleaner as I am about to leave the bathroom. Then I still don't
have to smell it!

A VA Loan can keep High Interest Rates Away
In today's housing market there are a record number of
foreclosures throughout every state. Don't be a part of the
growing number of Americans staring foreclosure in the face and
obtain a loan insured by the federal government.
The VA offers many great benefits to those that have served our
country and are looking to purchase their first home. A
for veterans who are first time home purchasers with little
credit to poor credit to obtain a competitive interest rate. If
you currently have a VA Loan you may also look into a
that loan to help save you money with your mortgage to receive
the best rate.
