My husband and I pay bills that we are able to on our accounts
on the computer. The remainder of the bills are paid by mail and
we deposit the remainder in savings. We only use a small amount
for miscellaneous. We have an account for annual bills and put
money into this account every month.

    Coupon Savings
    by Michelle Jones

Don't get carried away trying to use all your grocery coupons
each week, there are many times when it's better NOT to use a
coupon. One example is when the store brand product is still
cheaper than the name brand product, even when using a double
coupon! Always compare prices if a store brand is available,
    they just might surprise you!

If you would like to learn how to save more money with coupons,
including how to use them WISELY, how NOT to use them, and how
to FINALLY get them organized so you CAN use them, order your

Grandpa Terry's Tip of the Week

Take A Break From Your Money Worries!

For the last year you have probably spent many hours worrying
about your bills and your debt. I would like for you to put this
on hold for the next two weeks.

I believe 50 weeks a year is plenty of time to put your efforts
into solving your money problems. This time of year is all about
    much more important things.

Christmas time is for celebrating your faith and enjoying your
family and friends. I guarantee there will be plenty of time to
worry after the first of the year although it's a total waste of
    time.

I saw a quip one time that read "Worrying is like paying a debt
you may never owe". Worrying about anything, especially your
money problems, only gets in your way of a rational solution.

If you must spend your time thinking about your bills and your
debt this holiday season try using logic instead of emotion. Sit
down and develop a plan to get out from under your burden and
vow to stick to it. In most cases this is all it takes.

Contrary to popular believe there are solutions to all money
problems. That is a bold statement since I know many are
struggling and there doesn't seem to be a way out.

These solutions may take time and you may even need to get
professional help but they are there. All you have to do is find
the one that will work for you.

Believe me, I know what it's like to have more bills than
money. It can drive you crazy. But worrying about it will never
make a payment or keep the wolves off your back.

Just do me a favor and enjoy this holiday season. We will get
back to work on your money solutions in 2008!

    Grandpa Terry's Email

Since I didn't receive any email this week I'm going to list
two more Subscriber tips that will be eligible for the best
    tip contest:

I rarely buy bathroom cleaning products. I have a two year old
and when he's in his bath, I take a few minutes and spiff up the
bathroom. I mix a little shampoo and water in the sink. Grab a
rag and wash down the mirror, then the counter top. I use a
flour sack towel or paper towels to dry. I take the damp
paper towels and wipe off the dust on the toilet seat and the
icky dust that settles on the toilet base and in the corners.
Then I take my rag and wipe down the toilet. Once I get him out
of the bath I take his washcloth or wet towel and wipe down the
floors. My bathroom has stayed so much cleaner since I started
doing this. I'm not spending a ton of money on heavy duty
cleaners. Every so often or if one of us has been sick I use a
disinfectant on all surfaces. I have to be in the bathroom with
    him anyways.

I get paid weekly, something I do to save money is budget on 4
paychecks a month. There are 4 months in the year that have 5
weeks so by not including that 5th week in my budget, I am
essentially saving a month's worth of income each year.

    Subscriber Tip #2

Local stores have all sorts of boxes that customers can request
to take for FREE that are great for organizing, rather than
buying the "special" ones in stores. Like at school and
Christmas time, Ziploc sends display shelves that are great for
storing linens and quilts. Dollar day sales have displayer boxes
that are great for organizing kids toys, magazines, papers, and
a multitude of other things...just keep your eye open!
Heck...even those HUGE boxes that some stores get for their
stuffed animals (especially around Christmas) can be used for a
little kids' playhouse (paint it up...and it makes a CHEAP gift
    with HOURS of fun!).

    Subscriber Tip #3

I purchased the Reynolds Handi Vac sealer and the bags. They
are WONDERFUL!!! If I open cheese and don't use it all, I seal
it up When I need more, I open and re-seal it, same bag. I clean
and seal my vegetables like carrots, celery, cauliflower, even
lettuce and it stays fresh for a long time. I wrap my meat in
individual packages and then seal it in a gallon bag, when I
need it, I open it take out what I need, seal it back up and put
it back in the freezer. No Waste!!!, No extra bags. Also, I have
found the bags to be cheapest at Wal-mart, about 1.50 cheaper
    than grocery stores.

These Tips provided by The Frugal Shopper

Please show your appreciation for these great tips by visiting
    this site.

~~When washing dark clothes for the first time use cold water
and put salt in the water. The salt helps set the color. To
brighten dark clothes after they have been washed several times,
    repeat the procedure.

~~Black clothing tends to look brown after several washings. To
restore the black color, add coffee or strong tea to the rinse
    water.

~~Many garments labeled "Dry Clean Only" can be safely hand
washed using mild soap like Woolite and cold water.
